Verizon has launched #weneedmore, a national campaign aimed at making sure all students are prepared for the technology and science jobs of the future. The effort will especially aim to include students from underserved communities, who lack technology in schools and exposure to careers in the science and technology sector.

The campaign will be powered by the weneedmore.com content hub, along with a yearlong series of events and social activations to spur campaign engagement. Students, parents and teachers will be able to use the hub to view, share and interact with content designed to spark student curiosity and interest in science and technology. A number of Verizon stores will also offer opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience in virtual reality, 3-D printing and robotics from experts.

Verizon said #weneedmore translates into ‘we need more’ kids, starting in middle school, to receive technology tools, resources and instruction so that they can compete for jobs of tomorrow. The campaign will build on five years and over USD 160 million invested in tech programmes across the country for students and teachers.
